About me

Hello, I’m Luke, a fully qualified and insured Soft Tissue / Sports Therapist and owner of Road To Recovery Therapy. I offer a range therapies for the treatment of minor and chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) pain and injury. I opened the clinic in 2018 shortly after completing my Level 3 Sports Massage Therapy Diploma and soon went on to study a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy, which is one of the highest qualifications of its kind in the UK. I have continued to develop my training by completing courses in a number of different specialisms obtaining additional qualifications in Strength & Conditioning, Medical Acupuncture (dry needling), Sports & Injury Strapping and Kinesiology Taping. I am first aid trained and a member of several Industry Leading Professional Associations. My qualifications have enabled me to work full time as a Therapist doing what I love most – helping people!

Having been a competing National gymnast from a young age, I was forced to step down at the age of 16 due to being diagnosed with a spinal disorder known as Scheuermann’s disease; a condition that occurs during adolescent development resulting in an abnormal curvature of the spine. This led me to undergo several major spinal surgeries that left me with metal implants in my back and a long rehabilitation process. This meant that I was no longer able to train as a gymnast, so I therefore focussed my development in coaching gymnastics instead, which put me in great stead for becoming a Therapist. Having spent so long recovering from surgery I began to learn about the human body, gaining a new fascination for anatomy and an appreciation for how rehabilitation works. This ultimately led me to where I am today; a qualified Soft Tissue / Sports Therapist.

I pride myself on being a professional but friendly Healthcare Practitioner that delivers the best possible treatment and care to every single one of my Patients. I have a passion for helping people and understand the importance of getting an individual back on their feet to achieve their goals, whether it be running a marathon or working in the office pain free. I am acutely aware of the impact that pain and injury can have on an individuals physical and mental well-being, which is why I like to take more of a holistic approach to treatment and place emphasis on treating the mind and body as one.

I absolutely love what I do and I promise to always do my very best for you. I am always keen to learn how Patients feel and progress after treatment, so please drop me a message and let me know how you are getting on!
